White River Station Campground, located along the banks of the White River, is a secluded and tranquil place to camp just south of Mount Hood. The small campground has five tent with picnic tables that are accessible by car and one walk-in site. The sound of the White River is a constant at the campground, and a few of the sites provide direct views to the river; however, there is no view of Mount Hood from the campground. The campground opens in May and closes in September, but it is still accessible in the off-season when the vault toilet is closed and all waste must be packed out. Getting to the campground requires a few miles of driving along a well-maintained gravel road.

Thanks for letting us know, Erin! This closure has been noted in the alert section.
White River Campground is closed summer 2016 for public safety, due to the changing river flows eroding banks, until further notice. Many tranquil remote campgrounds are nearby, that are also primitive camping with few ammenities.
