At the northern most tip of the Pennsylvania Delaware Water Gap sits Milford Beach. With a large parking lot, large picnic area, and plenty of space for all sorts of outdoor activities, Milford Beach makes for a great spot to spend a day at the Gap. It sits right at the end of McDade Trail, so you can hike the trail, cool off at the beach, and return for a perfect active day.
If you are more interested in seeing the sites,. Milford Beach sits 15 minutes from the George W. Childs Park Trail and only 20 minutes from Dingman Falls. You can also spend some time at the Pocono Environmental Education Center for some great education on the Delaware Water Gap and the surrounding eco-systems.
With more than 40 miles of the Delaware River for you to access and 67,000 acres of forests, valleys, and floodplains to explore via the 100 miles of hiking trails, the Delaware Water Gap is easily a nature lover's dream. With numerous creeks and plenty of waterfalls to visit, you never really know what you're going to run into in the woods of Pennsylvania. Rafting, kayaking and canoeing are just some of the activities you can enjoy on the river, whether you own your own or rent from one of the many places within the park.
Milford Beach is the perfect place to relax after enjoying anything the Delaware Water Gap has to offer. With two different boat launches, a lifeguard on duty, and plenty of areas for picnics, large or small, Milford Beach is a great place for everyone, whether you are solo or with a group. Large canopied areas and a large bathhouse make it easy to spend the whole day here while you relax by the Delaware River.
