Ricketts Glen is a state park located in northern Pennsylvania. It features 24 waterfalls ranging from 9 to 94 feet, picnic areas, and a swimming lake.

All of the waterfalls are located along the aptly named Falls Trail, which stretches for 7.2 miles. Alternatively, visitors can enjoy a 3.2-mile trail that passes most of the falls. The Highland Trail connects the eastern terminus and northwestern terminus of the Falls Trail.

The trail is moderately difficult, with steep inclines and wet, muddy, and uneven terrain. Dogs are allowed on the trail as long as they are on a leash. If you're looking for solitude with the falls, the best time to set out is shortly after sunrise or in the late afternoon. Rain also drives away the crowds and presents a unique view of the landscape. There are many opportunities for you to sit along the edges of the water and rest, or even have a picnic.

Lake Jean can be accessed by the Beach Trail or via a large parking area. Swimming at the lake is encouraged within the roped off areas. The beach is staffed with lifeguards during the summer months. Various watercraft, including canoes and kayaks, are available for rent. There are concessions, restrooms, and large picnic areas within the immediate vicinity of the lake.

Ricketts Glen was originally part of a larger, 80,000-acre piece of land owned by R. Bruce Ricketts, formerly a colonel in the Civil War. He decided not to clear the forest from around the glen and eventually built the first trail along the falls in 1893. The trail system was improved in the 1940s and the 1990s.
