Caesar's Head State Park is a granitic gneiss outcropping atop the Blue Ridge Escarpment in what is known as the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, which is a combination of Jones Gap State Park and Caesar's Head. Together, these two parks encompass over 13,000 acres of forests, rivers, waterfalls, rock faces for climbing, and both loop and traverse hiking trails that connect the two. Just a short drive from the visitor center is Raven Cliff Falls Trail, a 3.7-mile there-and-back trail that leads to the 420-foot Raven Cliff Falls. There are several paths to the falls, and one even includes a suspension bridge. The park is covered with miles and miles of equally impressive trails.

From the lookout points at the visitor center it's possible to see the city of Greenville over 15 miles away! The view also encompasses nearby Table Rock State Park, it's resevoir lake, Pinnacle Mountain, and Raven Cliff Mountain among other peaks. The lookouts are located at the visitor center, which also offers public restrooms, picnic tables, grills, and vending machines. The visitor center is a fantastic resource to help plan trips through the wilderness area and beyond with informational pamphlets and an on-duty ranger at all times.
