Burgess Falls is one of the largest waterfalls in Tennessee. Measuring 250 feet, it is a sight to soak in.

From the dam to the beautiful gorge that Burgess Falls cascades into, there is so much beauty to take in. Getting to the falls is an easy hike from the parking area. Once on the trail from the parking lot, Falling Water River winds its way toward the epic cascade. Come in the fall when the trees change to vibrant colors, setting the landscape on fire.

These waters were used by the City of Cookeville from 1928 to 1944 to generate hydroelectric power. In 1973 the territory became a designated Tennessee State Natural Area, protecting the forest and the aquatic habitats. While in the area, be sure to check out Cummins Falls and Waterloo Falls. You will not be disappointed in the beauty this area holds.
