You are here
If you are in Fall Creek Falls State Park during a hot summer day, you'll have your choice of several areas to dip in and cool off. The Fall Creek Falls swimming area is a large pool of water near the campground. You will see many people here during hot southern days. There is a small beach adjacent to it where parents can watch the kids have fun. There is also a large rock formation where people can be seen jumping into the water. The maximum depth of this pool is 7 feet, and the lowest point is 3 feet. If you want to adventure to a more secluded place, head over to the wading pools near the Cane Creek Gorge overlook. Here you almost feel like no one else is around except for the occasional hiker. The crystal-clear water is beautiful and refreshing. Another favorite spot is the Cascade Waterfall swimming area. This is close the Betty Dunn Nature Center. Instead of going over the suspension bridge hang a right and walk down the steps. Here you can play directly underneath the waterfall and jump off the rock cliffs into the cool water. Saving the best for last, the Cane Creek Gorge pool is at the bottom of the falls. This pool is quite large and full of excitement. Since this area take a little bit of a hike to reach, it's a good idea to carry a change of clothes and shoes with you for the hike and the swimming. Once you are in nestled in the water you can look up and see the high cliffs that stretch over this area. It is truly a beautiful site to see from that perspective. Hopefully your adventures in this park will keep bringing you back.
