Fall Creek Falls State Park is Tennessee's largest recreation area, and it offers everything you could want for a time exploring the great outdoors. The park covers 26,000 acres and includes Fall Creek Falls, one of the highest and most magnificent waterfalls in the state. The waterfall is the highest single vertical drop east of the Mississippi. At 256 feet, Fall Creek Falls can be viewed by an overlook, or you can explore the base of the falls by the trail located to the left of the falls. The park contains six waterfalls; Fall Creek Falls, Coon Creek Falls, Cane Creek Cascades, Cane Creek Falls, Roundhouse Falls and Piney Falls. Aside from the impressive number of waterfalls, the park covers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. On your visit, head over to the Millikan Overlook. Soak up the view from there for a minute, but then take the "hidden" side trail to your right to access one of the park's most spectacular spots: Buzzards Roost. Watch your step, stand on the edge, and feel free for a moment.

Waterfalls and views are just a couple of the park's features. To really experience the entirety of the park, spend a few days here. Lodging within the park includes a large campground, backcountry camping, an inn complete with a restaurant, cabins in the woods, and cabins hovering above the lake. Wake up with the sunrise, walk out on the deck with your coffee and try your luck fishing. The diverse park offers swimming holes, zipline adventures, a pristine swimming pool, hiking trails, kayaking around the lake, golfing, biking, exploring a suspension bridge and so much more. Fall Creek Falls State Park is definitely a spot to not miss on your next adventure.
