Parksville Lake (also known as Lake Ocoee) is a manmade lake that was created in 1910-11 by the Tennessee Rural Electric Company. At 1,930 acres there is plenty of room for recreation of all types including boating, paddling, fishing and swimming. The Ocoee Scenic Byway provides easy access (and great views) as it passes along much of the Parksville Lake shoreline.

There are two public boat launches along the northern shores of Parksville Lake, both just off the Ocoee Scenic Byway (Hwy 64). For those without a boat, enjoying the lake from shore is an option. Two popular recreational spots are Parksville Beach and Mac Point. Here you can enjoy the waters by taking a swim, or try your luck fishing for bass, trout, bluegill, catfish, yellow perch and crappie.

Lake Ocoee Inn & Marina is a great option for those looking to spend a night here in comfort. Pontoon boats, fishing boats, canoes & kayaks can also be rented here. Camping options are available as well including Parksville Lake Campground. There are also a handful of first come, first served dispersed campsites along the lakeshore.

Last but not least, there are several trail options in the area for hikers and mountain bikers. Trails near Rock Creek lead to waterfalls, and in the nearby Chilhowee Recreation Area users can find upwards of 25 miles of trails.
