Pickwick State Park is nestled just above the Mississippi state line where the Tennessee River enters Pickwick Lake. The park lies south of the mouth of the river at the Pickwick Dam, which is controlled by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The river is acclaimed for water recreation such as fishing, swimming, and boating, and some of the largest fishing tournaments in the South are hosted on this lake and river. Other nearby activities include golf at the well-manicured course, disc golf, hiking, and birdwatching. The park contains 1,416 acres within its boundaries, which are open to adventures of all kinds.

Whether you are here to camp out or seek a less rugged stay, the park offers several campsites and cabins to suit everyone’s taste. The 10 standard cabins have central heat and air, cable TV, full kitchens, a patio, a fireplace, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. There are seven new premium cabins that offer up-to-date spacious living conditions. These cabins are configured with two or three bedrooms. They also offer the same features as the standard cabins along with Wi-Fi.

The park has 48 wooded campsites with electric/water hookups. These also include a picnic table, fire pit, and grill. Two of these sites are ADA accessible. There are 43 primitive campsites on the north side of Pickwick Lake. These sites also have picnic tables and firepits.
