Pace Bend State Park hugs Texas' Colorado River as it flows into Lake Travis in the Hill Country northwest of Austin. It offers the opportunity to picnic, hike, boat, bike, fish, and for the more adventurous cliff jump. Camping is also encouraged in this wonderfully managed and well-kept park.

Water levels tend to fluctuate so pay attention to warning signs if you plan to cliff jump. Certain "coves" prohibit boat traffic and are intended exclusively for swimming. There are over 15 miles of hiking and biking trails in the park and over 400 campsites, including 20 improved sites. Views are as abundant as the limestone cliffs that rise and fall on the shores of the Colorado River.
