Antelope Island State Park is one of Utah's best kept secrets.  It is a perfect day trip from Salt Lake City, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The island sits right in Utah's Great Salt Lake, but it is easily accessible via a causeway; the drive from Salt Lake City usually takes just over an hour. The island boasts scenery of a rustic, untouched landscape, with 360-degree views of the surrounding lake and distant mountains.

The park consists of 42 square miles of beautiful terrain that is an ideal habitat for a rich and diverse population of wildlife. A herd of bison live on the island along with mule deer, bighorn sheep, and various bird life. The park offers hiking trails, miles of paved road for scenic driving or bicycling, a visitor center, a marina, multiple picnic areas, as well as campsites. On the island is also the historic Fielding Garr Ranch, which visitors can tour to learn more about the early inhabitants of Antelope Island. This state park is honestly one of the best attractions in Utah, and it is a must-do when visiting the Salt Lake area!
