The hike to Twin Peaks is a relatively short trek that offers stunning views of downtown Salt Lake City and the surrounding mountains. The somewhat low elevation of these peaks (about 6,200 feet) makes this a suitable springtime hike when other higher peaks may still be snowbound.

There is no parking lot at this trailhead, instead park near the end of Terrace Hills Drive, being sure not to block any of the residents driveways.

You’ll follow the Terrace Trail as it climbs up toward your first view of downtown Salt Lake City. Continue straight and past the Bonneville Shoreline Trail junction. You’ll soon top out on a ridge and again have stunning views both to the north and south.

From here the Twin Peaks Trail follows the ridgeline toward the namesake Twin Peaks, visible in the distance. You’ll gain and lose some elevation as you continue until the trail veers right and makes the final ascent to the first peak. Enjoy the views then continue straight down and up to the second peak.

The views of Salt Lake City and the surrounding area are fantastic from here. Take some time to enjoy then return back over the first peak and to the trailhead via the same route you came.
