Baker Reservoir is located a short distance off Highway 18 between Enterprise and St. George, Utah. The reservoir was built in 1953 and sits at the base of the beautiful Pine Valley Mountains. This medium sized reservoir is best known for its cold water game fish, and is stocked with rainbow and brown trout regularly. Spring and Fall are the best seasons for fishing, but the reservoir is open year round.

In the 1980s the Baker Dam Recreation Area was developed, and it was again expanded in 1994 to include a campground and day use area. The day use area is quite nice and features shaded picnic tables located with a view of the reservoir. Campfire rings are also provided.

In addition to fishing, the Baker Reservoir area is also a popular destination for hunters looking to bag deer, quail, or rabbit. Additionally this is a good place for birders - keep an eye peeled for eagle, gray flycatchers, herons, quail and waterfowl.
