Fisher Towers Campground is a very small campground located near the base of the namesake Fisher Towers. These towers are quite the sight and make up one of the most unique landscapes in the Moab area. They were formed by erosion and are composed of dark red Cutler sandstone, with tops of Moenkopi sandstone. They can be enjoyed from camp, or a 2.2 mile National Scenic Trail can be hiked around the base of the towers, offering nearly 360 degree views at one point.
The views from the campground are equally stunning, with vistas down to the Colorado River Basin below in one direction, and the massive Fisher Towers in the other. There are a total of 5 campsites that are first come, first serve. Vehicles over 22 feet are prohibited, so camping is limited to tents or vans.
Even though the campsites are close together, there is still a fair amount of privacy. Aside from a vault toilet there are no amenities to be found here, not even drinking water.
This is a popular area, so chances are the campsites may be full if you arrive on a weekend, thankfully there are several other campgrounds nearby including Hittle Bottom, Upper Onion Creek and Lower Onion Creek.
