Hittle Bottom Campground is located off Highway 128, about 40 minutes northeast of the town of Moab. Situated right on the Colorado River, Hittle Bottom features a boat ramp and is a popular launching site for river trips. Spectacular vistas stretching for miles offer views of nearby red rock formations, including the Fisher Towers. Additionally, the remains of an old homestead, once home to the Tom Kitsen family, can be found within the campground.

The campground itself offers 15 campsites, including sites suitable for tent campers as well as larger RVs. There are no hookups available, and no drinking water. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There are vault toilets available in a few places around the campground. Campsites are first come, first serve.

Hittle Bottom also offers one group campsite, suitable for groups of up to 30. At this site you’ll find plenty of space for camping as well as a nice covered area with multiple picnic tables. This group site is reservable in advance, click here.

A shaded picnic shelter is also available for day use, and be sure to check out the enjoyable 3 mile Richardson Amphitheater Loop Trail that takes off from the campground.
