Small and secluded, Jordan Pines Campground in Big Cottonwood Canyon consists of just a handful of sites set amongst spruce, fir, and aspen trees. At about 7,500 feet of elevation and roughly half-way up the canyon, Jordan Pines provides easy access to mountain biking, hiking, birding, and rock climbing. Fly fishing on nearby Big Cottonwood Creek is also popular. The campground includes both a volleyball court and a horseshoe pit, although you must bring your own net, ball, and/or horseshoes. All sites also have picnic tables, fire rings, and grills.

The few sites here only accommodate groups (up to 125), and both overnight and day use sites are available. Reservations must be made at least four days in advance, and peak season is June 1 through September 4. Jordan Pines is unique in the area in that it is available for winter camping, and winter camping reservations can be made by contacting the Salt Lake Ranger District at 801-733-2660. For individual campsites nearby, try adjacent Spruces Campground or Redman Campground, located near Solitude Mountain Resort.
