Located due west of Salt Lake City on Route 189, the Jordanelle Reservoir has two faces: On the west side, greater development and more comfortable amenities make for a relaxing, comfortable outdoor experience, while the east side of the park offers greater immersion into the natural world.

Overall, Jordanelle State Park offers a complete repertoire of amenities. In Hailstone, on the reservoir’s west shore, the park offers an eight-lane boat ramp with slips for lease and temporary docks. A fish cleaning station is also available for anglers. The campground here offers 103 campsites with power and water hookups, tent sites, hike-in sites, two fully furnished cabins for rent, and hot showers. Day use facilities include a multitude of picnic cabanas and group pavilions. The Beach House rents non-motorized boats and floats for the AquaXzone float park. The park also offers a Solar System Geocache adventure that begins near the park office.

Rock Cliff on the east side of Jordanelle Reservoir is a more natural experience. A small boat ramp is available to watercraft under 16 feet and non-motorized watercraft; it can only be used when the reservoir is at its fullest. During other parts of the season, the area is known for its fishing. An extensive trail network includes the Perimeter Trail, a 15.5-mile hike from Rock Cliff to Crandall Point with beautiful views over the reservoir. Those interested in the park’s ecology can find their curiosity sated at the Rock Cliff Nature Center, which houses educational displays of the park’s plant and wildlife. Rock Cliff Campground offers walk-in tent camping, and the day use facilities offer the Ribbon of Life and Memorial Point, two geocache adventures.
