Lower Onion Creek Campground is located on the shores of the Colorado River and offers scenic views in all directions. The campground is located off Highway 128 and about one mile down a rough but easily drivable gravel/dirt road. Two boat ramps provide access to the river here. In addition popular 4WD roads, rock climbing and hiking can be found in the area.

The campground itself offers 21 different sites. Tent campers and RVers alike should be able to find a suitable spot. Unfortunately there is no shade at any of the sites, and facilities are limited to just vault toilets and a dumpster. There are no hookups and no drinking water available. Campsites are first come, first serve.

In addition to the 21 regular sites, 2 group sites are available. These can be reserved online (click here) and are suitable for parties of up to 30 people. The group sites offer plenty of space to camp as well as a large covered area with several picnic tables.
