Bryce Canyon National Park is one of the gems of southern Utah. It is a very accessible park with many viewpoints within a short walk from parking areas. The two campgrounds in the park continue in that vein as both are a very short walk from the rim of Bryce Canyon, but neither have views of the amphitheater from any campsites. The two campgrounds are not far from each other, but there are differences.

North Campground is the best choice for visitors with mid- to large-size RVs. There are no hookups, but there is a dump station that is open during the frost-free season. There are 13 sites at North Campground that are reservable only for RVs and only from May through September. Loop A is for larger vehicles only, while Loop B is for RVs or tents and Loops C and D are only for tents or very small vehicles like tent trailer or truck campers. All loops have flush toilets and drinking water.

North Campground is a short walk to the visitor center and the shuttle stop there. It is also a short walk to the rim of the canyon, but the prominent overlooks like Sunrise Point or Sunset Point are a half-mile and 1 mile away, respectively. Bryce Canyon Lodge has showers, and it is located a short distance away as well. North Campground is the only campground open all year, but the number of campsites and services (like running water) may be limited or not available in the winter; this park is over 8,000 feet in elevation, and winters are quite cold here.
