Situated on the road out to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Ponderosa Grove is a small campground operated by the Bureau of Land Management. Simple and primitive, this campground offers a fairly nice camping experience with much less activity and traffic than the campground at the state park.

The sites are all fairly large and offer unobstructed views of the surrounding terrain. There are tight turns that make this unsuitable to large vehicles but perfect for car campers and small RVs. There is no drinking water. Being close to the sand dunes, this campground can be popular with all-terrain vehicle users, but the lack of large parking areas will keep that traffic to a minimum. Besides the state park, the nearby town of Kanab and the Best Friends Animal Shelter offer hiking and other activities that make this little campground a good base camp.
