The Wind Cave Trail is one of Cache Valley's most popular trails, due to the easy access off Highway 89 through Logan Canyon. The parking for this trail will be full relatively early in the morning on weekends through the Summer. Cars are allowed to park on the shoulder across the highway as well. The trailhead is hard to miss because cars line the shoulders of the road.

The trail is a very consistent pace. At only 2 miles to the caves, a steady incline makes this a moderate to easy trail for those who rarely hike. There are multiple switchbacks with the caves being the end of the trail. There is one point along the 1.2 mile marker where the trail splits and goes farther up towards the Preston Valley Trail. Make sure you don't follow this trail going east or you will end up going much higher in elevation and farther than you expected.

As you approach the caves, you will be on top of them and much climb down. Be careful in winter as the trail to do so may be icy. This also included the caves themselves. There is a fairly sharp decline on the floor of the caves. This can be uncomfortable for some as it feels like you are falling down the mountain. Also, be prepared to wait for your chance to view the caves as the trail is very busy and the caves themselves only have so much space for multiple people.

The views you receive are of Logan Peak and the surrounding mountains of Logan Canyon. You also get great panoramic views of the China Wall outcropping on both sides of Logan Canyon.
