Bull Run Campground is the perfect base camp for exploring the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area. Located in Bull Run Regional Park, the campground is nearby popular destinations including Great Falls, Prince William Forest Park, and it is the closest campground to Manassas Battlefield Park. The campground is less than 15 miles from the Washington D.C. metro orange line. This is perfect for day trips to explore the monuments of the nation’s capital.
In addition to being in close proximity to these Northern Virginia attractions, Bull Run Regional Park itself has a lot to offer. Beautiful rolling fields surrounded by forest and the meandering Bull Run is the backdrop for Bull Run Regional Park. The park has many hiking trails that can be accessed directly from the campground. There are also canoe and kayak trails that run through the park and are part of the Occoquan Water Trail.
Atlantis Waterpark is another major attraction on site. The waterpark contains two large waterslides and multiple pools. A skeet shooting range and a disc golf course are also located inside the park. Bull Run is often host to many special and seasonal events. Check the park website for information on these events.
The campground contains over 140 sites including tent sites and full-hookup RV sites. The RV sites are sizable pull-through sites that can accommodate most large motorhomes. These are full-hookup 50 amp and 30 amp sites. There are over 100 tent sites that are smaller and often more secluded. These sites can vary from electric and water to no services at all. All tent and RV sites have the standard fire pit, charcoal grill, and picnic table. Group campsites are also available.
There are nine rustic cabins available for rent at the campground. The cabins have electricity, air conditioning and heat, a microwave, and a small fridge. Inside the cabin there is a bunk bed, a double bed, a sofa (with pull-out bed), and a set of table and chairs. Outside of the cabin are the typical amenities included in the tent sites. All cabins also have porch swings, which are perfect for evening relaxation.
There are two full-service bathhouses with central locations in the campground. The camp store sells firewood, ice, snacks, and other camping supplies. Other amenities include a playground, picnic shelters, and a large group fire pit with surrounding benches.
