Mathews Arm is a fantastic campground in Shenandoah National Park that boasts 166 sites, almost all of which are large enough to fit an RV. With modern bathroom facilities and a great location within the park (Mile 22 of Skyline Drive), Mathews Arm is a great pick for a place to stay. There are numerous trails nearby, many heading to fantastic waterfalls, such as Overall Run Falls, or sections of the Appalachian Trail.

Mathews Arm has 163 sites suitable for tents, cars and RVs, and three large group sites. It is a fairly popular campground in the summer, and it can often fill up quickly. It is smart to reserve ahead of time! There is also an amphitheater, an RV dump station, and there are camping supply stores just 2 miles away.

The sites within the campground include a fire ring, a picnic area, and access to the bathroom facilities. However, some sites are clearly better than others. All stand out as large, relatively isolated, yet close to restrooms and exits.
