Bay View State Park is a year-round beach and camping destination with 1,285 feet of saltwater shoreline on Padilla Bay. The bay is one of only 28 national marine estuaries, and it serves as a critical habitat for a variety of wildlife and birds. Mixed forests of Douglas fir, willow, red cedar and red alder bring great natural beauty to the eastern portion of the park and campground area.

The Padilla Bay coastline was originally inhabited by Native Americans, and there was a main village located where the park is today. This was home to a prominent Noo-Wha-Ah Chief who participated in the signing of the Point Elliot Treaty.

The Bay View State Park Campground provides group accommodations, comfortable cabins, and RV utility sites from which to enjoy the park for overnight trips. From here, it’s a short walk down to the day use beach area for fantastic views out to the San Juan Islands and Olympic Mountains during clear weather. No hiking trails exist within the park boundary, but the superb Padilla Bay Shore Trail is just a mile to the south.
