Blackpine Horse Camp + Campground is a modest option for those camping along Icicle Road, but it may be a perfect choice if you are unable to land a site at nearby Chatter Creek Campground or Johnny Creek Campground. The sites in Blackpine are large and adjoining, as the campground is arranged in a single open loop. Black Pine Creek flows seasonally by some of the sites. In spite of the small size and intimate layout, native understory helps provide a sense of privacy while firs and cedars provide shade through the afternoon. Visitors to Blackpine are close to the Blackpine Trailhead, which provides access to the Blackjack Ridge Trail, and the Icicle Creek Trailhead is just up the road.

All 10 sites are first-come, first-served. The campground is equipped with vault toilets and potable water, and while there are no hookups or dump stations, the roomy layout can accommodate trailers up to 60 feet. You may camp at Blackpine whether you have a horse or not; however, this campground is obviously focused on equestrians. If the campground is full and a party with horses shows up looking for a spot, the campground host will ask campers without horses to move on.

At the very end of Icicle Creek road you will find a rather empty campground that is well maintained with some of the largest campsites you have ever seen a campground offer. This campground offers horse trailer parking and tie downs for the horses. It is located close to the river and is accessible by hiking trails that are marked within the campsite, and there are lots of shaded, level campsites.
