Situated at the edge of the North Fork of the Nooksack River, Douglas Fir Campground provides basic campsites for outdoor enthusiasts along Mount Baker Highway. This peaceful little campground is conveniently located just 2.5 miles from Glacier, the nearest town. Campers can hear the sound of rushing water throughout the grounds, and even sites not located directly on the river are just a short walk away. Across the street, the easy Horseshoe Bend Trail awaits hikers.

The campground's namesake Douglas firs, along with western red cedar and western hemlock, provide plenty of shade. Check out the tall, old-growth trees, and watch for wildlife; salmon run in the Nooksack, and black bears have been spotted in the area.

RVs are permitted at standard sites, but no hookups are available. The picnic shelter, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, is $5 per day for non-campers or $50 per day to reserve for events. A boat ramp beneath the bridge at the east end of the campground is available for rafts and kayaks.
