Dungeness Landing County Park

At just slightly less than a half-mile from the tip of Graveyard Spit, the boat ramp at Dungeness Landing is the closest boat access to Dungeness Spit and the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. You'll also have excellent views of the New Dungeness Lighthouse to the northeast and perhaps Mount Baker in the distance, so bring a camera or an easel. The 5.6-acre day use county park has a modest picnic area and restrooms, but the main attraction is the high-water boat ramp. If you time the tides correctly and can put-in here, you'll enter straight into Dungeness Bay, part of the refuge itself, for excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Even at lower tides or without a personal watercraft, however, the park presents some excellent opportunities to watch the wildlife at work on the marsh. Note that Graveyard Spit and much of Dungeness Spit itself is closed to public access, so please don't consider this an alternate access to the spit.
