How many parks have dozens of Adirondack chairs scattered around, completely available for any visitor to use or move wherever they want? We can tell you…not many. Fay Bainbridge Park does, and it’s a much appreciated amenity. So to those who run the park and decided to offer these public Adirondack chairs…thank you!
Located on a nearly half-mile stretch of Puget Sound beach on the northeastern shore of Bainbridge Island, Fay Bainbridge Park is beautifully situated. On any clear day you can enjoy views of Mount Rainier and Mount Baker, and if one day isn’t enough to take advantage of this little park, it also has a 36-site campground.
The park’s day use area not only features dozens of lounging chairs, it also provides nearly three dozen picnic tables (with upright barbeque grills), two reservable picnic shelters, a playground, a sand volleyball court, horseshoes, potable water, and public restrooms.
Note: Both the Beachside Lower and Private North picnic shelters can accommodate up to 50 people, are reservable in 4-hour time slots (11a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.), and are $80 and $100, respectively. To make reservations, call 206.842.2306, extension 118.
