If you’re looking for panoramic views of the Olympic Mountain Range with minimal effort, Hurricane Ridge may be the best option available. This destination is the most easily accessed mountain area within Olympic National Park. In clear weather, you can look out over more than 18 separate peaks in the Olympic wilderness. Thanks to the National Park Service, you can check the weather in advance of your trip via the NPS Hurricane Ridge Webcam.

Hurricane Ridge offers several attractions to enjoy throughout the year. In the spring and summer there are a number of options that range from descents to subalpine lakes to ridge-top traverses, where you will likely see mountainsides covered in wild flowers and blacktail deer grazing throughout the park. For winter excursions, Hurricane Ridge offers snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and sledding.

In addition, the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center provides a welcoming first stop for your visit. Here you can find brochures, maps, a snack bar, and restrooms. The multi-story facility built into the hillside has a wrap-around deck for an ideal view to the Olympic Range. To access Hurricane Ridge and the visitor center, the road is open throughout summer. In winter months, the road is opened Friday through Sunday from 9:00 A.M. to dusk (weather permitting).
