At just an hour’s drive from Seattle, Lake Easton State Park is a good option for a quick and easy escape from the city. The park has more than 12 miles of trails, six of which are accessible for bikes, so the area is a good choice for small hikes. These trails are also great winter opportunities, and cross-country skiing is popular around the lake. Day use amenities include an amphitheater, playground, and basketball court, and grills, fire pits, and picnic tables.

The lake itself is the main attraction. Lake Easton State Park includes a 20-foot dock that is ideal for land-based fishing or simply laying out. A boat ramp is available for motorized and non-motorized boats, but do note that motorized boaters need to use extreme caution, as stumps lurk beneath the surface. There is a 10 horsepower limit on boat motors. Lake Easton is an ideal waterway for paddlers, however, conditions permitting.

There are plenty of trails nearby, so consider Lake Easton State Park Campground if you are spending time exploring this region.
