Lake Wenatchee State Park is a great winter weekend or weekday destination. This approximately 500-acre recreation area is bisected by glacial Lake Wenatchee, which has a circumference of over 2 miles and creates two similar but very distinct areas. Though the north and south parking lots are located close together, they require slightly different access points. Signs are abundant, but the turn off for the south parking lot is about a 1 mile south of the north lot on Highway 207.

As in the north section, several trails combine to create plenty of touring options with different terrain and distance profiles. Nason's Ridge and Kahler Glen Golf Course are the only trails that don't finish in the south parking lot. With open views of Lake Wenatchee and Baldyface Mountain and intimate tours of the park's dense forest, a winter exploration of Lake Wenatchee State Park is a rewarding trip. Note that, in addition to a sno-park pass, you'll need a groomed trails permit to ski or snowshoe at Lake Wenatchee State Park (credit card, check, or cash are accepted at the south parking lot). This also allows you to access to the groomed sledding hill that shares the same parking lot.
