Lisabuela Park is a 5.5-acre shoreline park and terrestrial conservancy on the west side of Vashon Island. The park makes for a relaxing destination with a view to the Olympic Mountain Range over the boats passing through the Puget Sound. The route to reach the park is very scenic, and it requires a ferry ride followed by a drive through the wooded Island.

The destination was originally named Hammersmark Landing after Thorkeld Hammersmark, the homesteader who settled there in 1883. Over time the land traded hands and became the Lisabuela Resort. The resort name Lisabuela was created through a mashup of the owner’s daughter’s names - Eliza and Buelah. Since control has turned over to the Vashon Park District, the shoreline area has been enhanced with a small-vessel boat launch, a picnic area, picnic tables, and a primitive campsite for the Washington Water Trails system.

Since Lisabuela Park is directly north of a sensitive estuary by the name of Christianson Cove, the location has a remote feel despite being just 20 miles outside of downtown Seattle. Also, with a view to the west to the Olympic Mountains, the park makes for a good location to catch a sunset.
