San Juan Island: South Beach

South Beach is the longest beach on the San Juan Islands. Situated right next to the American Camp of the San Juan Island National Historical Park, the beach makes for an easy and a beautiful hike. It is easy to reach with a direct drive from American Camp and past Jakle's Lagoon, or you can walk to the beach. The beach offers, amazing vistas of the Olympic Peninsula over the Strait of Juan De Funca, and it is a great place for a family picnic. There is a lot of dirft wood on the shore along with seashells. This beach is very close to other adventuers on the Island, including Fourth of July Beach and the English Camp of the San Juan Island National Historical Park.
