Home to the historic 1931 Silver Springs Guard Station* (now a visitor center), Silver Springs Campground is located just north of the Mount Rainier National Park boundary. The 56-site campground is sandwiched between Washington Highway 410 and Mount Rainier's White River. Almost all of the sites are large enough to accommodate RVs, but given the highway's adjacent position to the campground, the most coveted sites are the ones closest to the river.

As the name implies, small springs surface from below ground in the middle of the campground near campsite four, creating a creek that flows past the campground's day use area and shelter and quickly before converging with the White River.

* The original Silver Springs Guard Station was built directly after World War I in 1915, but it succumbed to a fire in 1930. The existing Guard Station was built one year later to replace the original.

Note: Silver Springs Campground is open from mid-May through end of September and fills quickly, so be sure to make reservations. Call Hoodoo Recreation Services at 541.338.7869 or at 888.444.6777 for specific opening dates. If the campground is full, try nearby The Dalles Campground or the Buck Creek Campsites, both just north on Highway 410.
