Sucia Island is described by Washington States Parks as “the crown jewel of the state's marine park system.” Sucia Island State Park is a 564-acre marine park with nearly 15 miles of shoreline. While this exceptional island is consistently ranked as one of the top boating destinations in the world, it also features 10 miles of well-maintained hiking trails.

The Sucia Island Hiking Trail System will take you on a tour from the island’s panoramic overlooks to the numerous bays and coves around Sucia Island. From an aerial view, Sucia has the form of a hand with fingers, so following the trail system provides a number of out-and-back options as you travel down the individual spurs. Also, you will have a view to the open water at almost all times. Since you are hiking within a Washington State Marine Park, odds are good that you will see seals, sea lions, and a wide variety of birds . Also, be sure to wander around the shorelines, where you will find unique web-like formations in the rocks.
