Sunset Falls Campground is an easy, laid-back site that is great for families and weekend camping trips. Sites have sand tent pads, picnic tables, and fire pits for ease and convenience. The sites are all within 200 feet of the water; just be careful where you get down to access it as the banks can be slippery.

The campground is an easy quarter mile walk to Sunset Falls, where the icy clear water will wake you better than any cup of coffee. Moulton Falls is nearby if you are looking for a place to do some cliff jumping, and Moulton Falls Winery is nearby and has decent food, live music, and wine and cider tasting flights if you are in the mood.

Sunset Falls is located just inside the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, one of the older national forests in the United States. For over 6,000 years people have made an impact on the ecology of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Native Americans hunted in high meadows below receding glaciers. The natives then began to manage the forest to meet their own needs. One method they used was to burn specific areas to help in the huckleberry production. Falls of this height were often utilized by the Native Americans as a means for hunting salmon, as they attempted to jump the waterfall to spawn upstream.
