This paddle is about a 5 mile round-trip route to the mainland sea caves from Meyers Beach. The paddle starts at Meyers Beach and follows the shore for about 2 miles before the red cliffs and the sea caves come into view. The first major sea cave can be entered one kayak at a time and leads into a beautiful crevasse in the the cliffs. Paddlers who move further east along the shore will find a keyhole arch that kayakers can paddle under about 2.5 miles away from the beach. Paddlers can continue along the shoreline or return to Meyers Beach at any point along the paddle.
This is a pretty popular paddle due to the access and the amount of guided tours that go here. However, with patience and respect everyone can get a good view of the caves. Note that kayakers should always check the forecast before paddling in Lake Superior. Kayakers should also always wear a wet suit for safety.
Note that Meyers Beach is also accessible via trail.
