The West Bluff Trail is a 1.4-mile trail that takes hikers to the top of quartzite cliffs that rise about 500 feet above Devil’s Lake. The trail is a narrow asphalt path that is in poor shape in some sections, but it is easy to follow. This trail can be accessed from the south by parking at the boat landing parking lot. On the north side there is a small parking area near the start of trail on North Shore Road, and more parking is available at the main North Shore lot. This trail gains about 500 feet in evaluation; there are stone steps on both ends trail that climb to the top of the bluff.

There are many spots along the trail that provide scenic views of unique rock formations, the lake, the east bluff, and beyond. This hike can be made into a loop by taking the Tumbled Rocks Trail, which runs along the lakeshore on the return hike.
