The functional boats of the Jenny Lake Boat Dock serve two purposes during Grand Teton National Park’s short visitor season. They serve as a shuttle to and from the boat dock on the west side of Jenny Lake that offers hikers a shortcut to Cascade Canyon and the trails to Inspiration Point and Hidden Falls, saving about 2.5 miles of hiking.

The boats also offer guided tours of Jenny Lake that last about an hour and feature spectacular scenery and informative narrative about the park’s geology, history, and wildlife. On a tour it is possible to see moose, elk, bald eagles, and osprey. The approach to the Tetons themselves gets about as close as possible without hiking for several miles.

Reservations are advised for tours during the busy months.
