I am a Family Nurse Practitioner who combines evidence-based science, functional medicine, and integrative medicine to help you reach your personal health goals. I currently practice at Evolution Healthcare and Fitness in SE Portland. I view healthcare as a team approach and prioritize explaining to you the why behind my recommendations to empower you to make changes. My practice focuses on lifestyle changes including nutrition, exercise, stress management, and medication therapy when appropriate. I work to empower you to improve your health in a way that will be realistic and sustainable for you. I understand that each patient is unique and will tailor a plan specific to you.
As a lifelong athlete and adventurer, I have suffered from injuries (including three knee surgeries), battled ongoing fatigue, and struggled with digestive issues. It wasn't until I discovered functional medicine that I started to feel optimistic about my health and see true results in my performance in the mountains.
I received my Bachelor’s in “Medicine, Health, and Society” and my Masters in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. I then decided to further pursue my education in sports medicine and obtained a Certificate in Orthopedics from Duke University. I am dedicated to discovering the root cause of symptoms, and therefore use a functional medicine approach. Since graduating, I have worked in primary care clinics. I am excited to embark on a career that will allow me to incorporate longer visits and to practice in a patient-centered approach working alongside an integrative team.
When I am not working, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors by climbing, mountaineering, hiking, and biking.
