I just love to be outdoors and take pictures of beautiful scenery. Living in Oregon has provided me nearly unlimited opportunities to do just that. I love to hike, swim, cycle, camp, and just hangout with my dog.
Talk about a hidden gem! I felt a little bid like I was driving into a horror movie on the remote forest roads to the trailhead. Great hike and another great Southern Oregon falls!

Short hike to a fantastic falls.
What a fantastic place to visit! Fall is definitely the best time of year to do this hike. The cottonwoods and aspens turning yellow is absolutely stunning. The Steens look majestic with a fresh coat of snow! I would add that after October 1st the area is open to hunting so take caution if you're hiking then. Also there is some really spectacular back country sites here as well.

Kiger Gorge is truly a sight to behold. October seems to be the best balance of gorgeous fall colors and snow along gorge.

The upper meadow was a veritable cornucopia of wildflowers and monarch butterflies.
Lost Lake is such a cool phenomenon. It can be difficult to time visiting here when the lake is draining like this.

This hiking is breathtaking is the figurative and literal sense. Probably the hardest hike of my life to one of the most beautiful areas I've ever visited

Hiking to Jefferson Park via the Whitewater Trail is such a treat. Little did I know that on my trip up this year there was a fire smoldering so close to the trail. I'm very grateful that I was able to hike this trail before wildfire damaged this trail and maybe the park itself. Jefferson Park is such a amazingly beautiful and special place. It really feels like a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. We ended up camping along Bays Lake at one of the few designated sites that wasn't covered in snow or water. Snow and snow melt did obstruct some of the paths around Scout Lake. The PCT trail to Russell was covered by a snow field and Russell lake itself was mostly snow and ice.

The easy hike to Soda Creek Falls is well worth the trip. The trail was a bit difficult for me to find in the vast Cascadia State Park.

Just made the trip to tumble lake from the upper trailhead. The road to the trailhead was mostly fine besides having to dodge some of the logging operations along the way. Despite going on a Friday night the lake offered complete solitude for camping. The primitive sites were very accommodating. The lake temperature was perfect! The trail down to the lake was definitely steeper than I had anticipated. Hiking out I took the detour to summit Dome Rock and the views were incredible. Wildflowers were in bloom and all the Central Oregon Cascades were out in full force. This a great spot to really bask in what makes Oregon special without having to step over a billion people in the process.

Big Lake snowshoe starting from Benson-Sno park is a real treat for the novice snowshoer. The trek is relatively short and flat and the view at Big Lake is phenomenal. If you get luck you may even get treated to show at sunset.
