Great views from both mountains and a lovely hike through coast range forest. This was a pretty strenuous hike, I'm still sore 2 days later! I brought the dogs but kept them on leash the whole time so I didn't have to worry about them running off a cliff in pursuit of a critter. I did have to assist them in a few places. I'm not sure I would recommend this for older pups or people who may not be able to lift or lower their pups. Picked a few ticks off the dogs as well so be sure to check them when you get back to the trailhead!
What a beautiful hike! We did have to stop and ask a ranger which turnoff for the trailhead closest to the springs (at the very end of the Little Crater campground). No problem finding the springs from the trail, plenty of people were out there on Memorial Day weekend. Soaked our feet in a hole already dug out, though the ranger did ask that people fill in when they leave. I would definitely keep this trip in mind for the winter months.
Great hike if you've only got a couple of hours, plus beautiful views of the Cascade peaks. This park is very busy though, expect to have a hard time finding parking and lots of other hikers.
