I would add that the best route down to the falls is NOT the trail leaving from the "parking area". . . that one is steep and slippery. Instead, take the trail by the small sign posted by Mt Angel Abbey. And use the ropes provided and don't try to blaze your own trail. Too many have created multiple trails that have turned into hazardous slides.
