Beef Basin and Ruin Park is a very remote corner of southern Utah, located just south of the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. To visit, you’ll need a 4x4 vehicle and the patience to endure the long journey here.

Once here, one could spend days exploring the area. The scenery is stunning, with fantastic views all around. But the main attraction is the many Native American ruins found here.

Keep an eye open as you drive through, as there are ruins scattered all throughout the area - well over a hundred archaeological sites. This area was inhabited by Mesa Verde Anasazi, or Ancestral Puebloans. The ruins here are close to 1,000 years old.

Please treat any ruins you come across with respect, not altering them in any way.
