Deer Haven to Navajo Lake Loop is a 30-mile route located within Dixie National Forest just outside of Cedar City, Utah. This is a high elevation route that stays mostly between 9,000 and 10,000 feet above sea level. It features shaded forests, scenic vistas, and lakeside hiking. The route, which combines both singletrack trails and some wide dirt roads, falls within an area that attracts trail runners, backpackers, hikers and mountain bikers.

The loop begins and ends at Deer Haven Campground and can be completed as a long day hike or overnight backpacking trip, making use of the numerous backcountry campsites and/or campgrounds that can be found along the route.

The trail travels up and down rolling hills and winds in and out of forested areas filled with Aspen groves and sweet smelling Douglas Fir.

DIRECTIONS
From the campground, follow the Virgin River Rim Trail (#32011) southeast towards Navajo Lake. You will leave the Virgin River Rim Trail (#32011) at Te-Ah Campground and follow the Navajo Lake Loop Trail clockwise around the lake.

Leaving Navajo Lake's southern shores, you will climb the Dike Trail to reconnect with the Virgin River Rim Trail (#312011), where you can enjoy sweeping views overlooking the lake.

Take the Virgin River Rim Trail (#32011) back towards the campground and then follow Webster Flat Road back to the trailhead.

BACKCOUNTRY CAMPING
Dispersed camping is allowed in Dixie National Forest and permits may not be required depending on the size of your group. For more information check: https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/dixie/home

WATER
