The Murray Canal Trail is an enjoyable and scenic walk that parallels the Jordan & Salt Lake City Canal from Fontaine Bleu Drive to Wheeler Historic Farm. The trail is smooth and flat, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll, family hike, or gentle bike ride.

To begin, find parking off Fontaine Bleu Drive - making sure not to block any of the home driveways in the neighborhood. The trail then heads generally southwest along the canal. There are homes on both sides of the trail, but high fences make it feel like you aren’t walking too close.

In addition to the lovely canal, you’ll also have views of the impressive peaks of the Wasatch Mountains in the distance.

The trail cross several roadways, with a crosswalk at each crossing.

The Murray Canal Trail then comes to an end when you enter Wheeler Historic Farm. You can (and should) add on a short loop through the park here, especially if you have never been. It is enjoyable walking, and visitors can check out the historic farm that is still active today.

When finished, return the way you came back up the Murray Canal Trail.
