The Sandy Urban Fishery, also commonly known as Grandpa’s Pond, is a 3 acre pond located within a 14 acre park near the Jordan River, just on the western edge of Sandy City.

The park opened in 2009, and has been a popular spot with fishermen, both young and old, since. The pond is stocked regularly with Bluegill, Trout, and Small-mouth Bass. There is a limit of 2 fish. Fishing can be done from the shore, with a paved walkway encircling the pond, or from the fishing dock platform. There is also a fish cleaning station located here.

In addition to the pond, there is also a nice park area at Grandpa’s Pond. You’ll find a large picnic pavilion and restrooms, a playground for kids, and a large open grassy area to recreate or relax.

The park is open from sunrise to 10pm daily.
