The trailhead for the Riser Lake loop is off of Gunn Ranch Road.  From the parking area follow the wide gravel path near the entrance to the parking area.  This wide path narrows down and becomes and overgrown trail, difficult to find through a marsh area.  After one mile, the trail turns south and is open the rest of the route.

The trail winds down a slope to an old closed gravel road at the 1.5 mile mark.  The remainder of the loop is along this old road and loops around to Riser Lake.  It is an easy trail to follow however, the trail does not go down to the lake.  There is some views and plenty of wildlife.  The trail ends at the west end of the trailhead parking next to a vault toilet.
