Wicky Shelter is located within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, just off Forest Road 8040. Mt Adams is nearby, although there are no mountain views from the shelter.

The shelter, constructed in the 1930s, sits an an elevation of 3,600 feet amongst some lovely Ponderosa Pines. There are many trails nearby offering great hiking, biking and equestrian use opportunities. This area is also popular for winter recreation, in fact the shelter was reportedly used as part of a rudimentary downhill ski/rope tow operation many decades ago.

The three-sided, lean-to shelter can be used by anyone exploring the area. Although there are no official campsites here, there are places for tent camping and RVs/Trailers may park in front of the shelter. This is a dispersed camping situation so there is no fee.

There is also a vault toilet located nearby.
