Gray Whale Educational Content By: Greg Jones | 02.07.13

Problem: The global focus we’ve adopted in today’s world means that many of us have a better idea of what is happening in faraway countries than we know of our own neighborhoods and ecosystems. As we engage in earth-impacting issues such as climate change or loss of biodiversity, we all, to varying degrees, experience consequences of these global trends in our own backyards. Change is happening, for better or worse, and to make it a positive change takes engagement; it takes passion. Our belief is that by engaging in outdoor experiences and learning about our natural surroundings in the process, we all become more engaged and passionate about protecting it for the future.

Mission: To create inspired and enriching outdoor education content for the regions served by Outdoor Project and to partner and support other non-profit groups who share the mission of providing outdoor education and stewardship of the natural world.

Action: OutdoorProject.org is a 501(c)(3) non-profit business that uses funding collected on its behalf by Outdoor Project and its own independent funding to execute its mission. We believe that its mission is absolutely critical to the health and well-being of our environment, economy, community and future generations.

When you become a Giving Member of Outdoor Project, $6/month is directed to OutdoorProject.org. No administrative fee is paid to Outdoor Project. Those funds are split 50/50, with half used by OutdoorProject.org to create educational content and half to support partnering non-profit, 501(c)(3), organizations.
